Broke To Built | Bike Build Contest
Have an old tired dirt bike that needs fixing? Join in on the fun and have a shot at winning some cash! Pryme is putting up $5000 (5 times as much as last year) for the biggest transformations. This isn't all about dumping loads of money and bling into your bike. It's judged on how well you fix up your bike, basically going from broke to built.
This year there will be 4 classes:
- Two Stroke (any cc)
- Four Stroke (any cc)
- Mini Bike (110cc and smaller)
- Vintage (1995 and older)
There will be 25 winners of $200 each.
This is open to any motorcycle, any age, and any location. Entries are available for purchase until March 30th, 2021. You must finish your bike and submit your videos before May 10th, 2021.
Once all of the submissions are reviewed, the panel of judges will choose 5 of the biggest transformations from each class (10 from the very competitive Two Stroke class) to win $200 each, for a total of 25 winners. Additionally, those top picks from each class will be put into a secure poll for the public to vote on. The winner of each class wins a badass one-off trophy! From there, those 4 champs will be pitted against each other for an overall winner. The overall winner receives a billet Phathead Racing cylinder head and serious bragging rights!
Every entry receives a "Broke To Built" sticker, and 10% off their next order through Pryme. Please enter your mailing address upon checkout to receive a sticker.

Here are some common questions that have popped up:
Can I enter if my bike is currently in parts?
You may enter into the contest, but you must film your "before" video at the current point you're at. As long as your entry videos fall within the requirements, you're good to go!
Keep in mind, this is a transformation contest and it may not be judged upon well if we don't have a good idea of what your bike looked like beforehand. If your bike is in boxes, make sure you lay out the parts in good lighting. We can't tell what your bike is if it's in a dark corner of your shed.
What if I built my bike last year?
This contest is only for bikes that are being built from December 5th, 2020 through May 10th, 2021.
I have a before video from two years ago, can I use that?
No, you MUST film your before video at your current point.
How much work can I do to my bike?
You can do as little as install a new graphics set, or go as far as doing a complete tear down and restoration. There are no limits on what you can do, it's all up to your imagination!
Can I enter if I only have pictures?
No, only video entries are eligible. A photo slideshow in a video format does not count.
Is my bike eligible?
This contest is open to any motorcycle of any year, and in any condition. As long as your entry videos fall within the requirements, you're good to go!
How will my bike be judged?
Your build will be judged purely on transformation. No matter whether it's an MX bike or a woods bike or enduro, every bike will be looked at equally.
Do I have to be over 18 and in the United States?
Entries are open to anyone and everyone!
What class do I enter my bike in?
There are 4 classes; Two Stroke, Four Stroke, Mini, and Vintage. If you're having trouble deciding what category your bike falls into, refer to this:
- Two Stroke (can be any cc and any year)
- Four Stroke (can be any cc and any year)
- Mini Bike (110cc and smaller, can be any year)
- Vintage (can be any cc, 2 stroke or 4 stroke, but must be 1995 or older)
Can I enter more than 1 class?
No, you can only enter your build into one of the classes. If you are entering more than one build, feel free to enter them in separate classes if you desire.
How much can I spend?
You can spend as little or as much as you'd like on your project.
Do the videos have to be high quality?
Video quality does not matter, just as long as we can see your bike clearly. Feel free to use your cell phone. Show the bike in good lighting to give yourself the best chance.
What type of bike can I enter?
Any motorcycle is welcome! Sorry, no ATVs or UTVs.
Can I enter more than 1 bike?
Yes, you may enter more than one bike but you will need to purchase an entry for each bike. Only one bike per entry.
Can I sabotage my bike to make it look worse?
The panel of judges are smart guys that work on bikes for a living, we know what wear and tear looks like. Taking a hammer to your bike beforehand is only going to hurt your wallet and your chances of winning.
