Have an old beat up motorcycle that needs fixing, or wanting to give your bike a complete makeover? Dust off the wrenches and join in on the fun! Broke To Built is an annual event that is all about who can achieve the biggest transformation with their build, and not who dumps the most money and bling into their bike.

This contest is open to any motorcycle, any age, and any location.

Entries are available until January 31st.

This event is all about having fun, building cool bikes, and creating a community around building motorcycles. If you are someone who whines and complains if your bike doesn't win or make it into the finals, please don't enter this contest. It is a contest after all, and there will be people who win and those who do not. Win or lose, we're all here to have a good time!

The format for this years event is a head to head style tournament.

• Once all of the submissions are reviewed, the top 32 builds will be selected to move into qualifying for the tournament.
• Qualifying will be voted on by the public, and positions 1-15 will move into the tournament.
• New for this year is the Broke or Built Round. This is your last chance to get into the tournament. The remaining 17 bikes will be put into a poll, and only the winner moves onto the tournament.
• Bracket matchups will be determined by qualifying positions, with #1 seed going against the 16th seed, 2nd seed vs. 15th, and so on.
• From there, contestants will be matched up head to head. Our panel of judges will vote to determine the winner of each bracket. Each winner will advance until an overall winner is determined.
• After the 2nd round of the tournament, the Revival round will take place. The judges will vote to bring back 2 bikes that were eliminated from the previous rounds to spice things up!

• The overall winner will receive $1000 cash as well as the 1st place trophy
• 2nd place will receive $500 cash
• 3rd place will receive $300 cash
• 4rd place will receive $200 cash
• 5th-10th placings will each receive $100 cash

Every entry receives a "Broke To Built" sticker, and 10% off their next order through Pryme. Please enter your mailing address upon checkout to receive a sticker. 

Let's keep it simple, follow the requirements listed below in order to be eligible for the contest:

• Purchase an entry and build your bike between November 1st, 2022 and April 30th, 2023.
• Film before, during, and after videos of your build, keeping each video under a minute long.
• Your before video must show Cameron's "Bigger and Better! | 2023 Broke To Built Contest" YouTube video to prove the date (see example below for more details). 
• Video submissions only, no photos.
• Submit your entry videos before April 30th, 2023.

Other Details

• This contest is open to any type of motorcycle. As long as it has two wheels and an engine it's all fair game.
• You can be of any age and from anywhere in the world, we've had contestants from all over the globe and all ages!
• Feel free to film your entry videos with your cell phone or any camera you have. Just make sure to show your bike in good lighting.
• Entries are available for purchase until January 31st, 2023.
• You may enter more than one motorcycle, but you must purchase an entry for each bike.
• Absolutely no refunds. All entries are final.

Here's 5 steps on how your entry should go

Step 1

• Find a bike you'd like to enter. 
• Purchase an entry and save the order number that is in your order confirmation email (check your spam folder if you don't see it).

Step 2

• Film a "before" video of your build. Do a walk around of bike to show condition, no talking or video editing required.
• Show Cameron's "Bigger and Better! | 2023 Broke To Built Contest" YouTube video to prove the date (see example below for more details).
• Keep "before" video under 1 minute long.
• Here's an example of what your "before" video should look like:

Step 3

• The fun begins! Time to get to work on your bike.
• You can do as little as install a new graphics set, or go as far as doing a complete tear down and restoration. There are no limits on what you can do, it's all up to your imagination!
• During the process, film a short "during" video to show how far you took your bike apart. 
• Keep "during" video under 1 minute long.
• Here's an example of what your "during" video should look like.

Step 4

• The hard work has been done and your build is now finished! It's time to show off your build.
• Do an "after" video of your build, no talking or video editing required (feel free to do a video edit though!)
• Keep "after" video under 1 minute long.

Step 5

Upload your "before", "during", and "after" videos to YouTube as unlisted or public. Send them in one email to b2b@prymemx.com before April 30th, 2023 in the following format. (copy & paste, fill in blanks)

Here are some common questions that have popped up:

Can I enter if my bike is currently in parts?

You may enter into the contest, but you must film your "before" video at the current point you're at. As long as your entry videos fall within the requirements, you're good to go! Keep in mind, this is a transformation contest and it may not be judged upon well if we don't have a good idea of what your bike looked like beforehand. If your bike is in boxes, make sure you lay out the parts in good lighting. We can't tell what your bike is if it's in a dark corner of your shed.

What if I built my bike last year?

This contest is only for bikes that are being built from November 1st, 2022 through April 30th, 2023.

I have a before video from two years ago, can I use that?

No, you MUST film your before video at your current point.

How much work can I do to my bike?

You can do as little as install a new graphics set, or go as far as doing a complete tear down and restoration. There are no limits on what you can do, it's all up to your imagination!

Can I enter if I only have pictures?

No, only video entries are eligible. A photo slideshow in a video format does not count.

Is my bike eligible?

This contest is open to any motorcycle of any year, and in any condition. As long as your entry videos fall within the requirements, you're good to go!

How will my bike be judged?

Your build will be judged purely on transformation. No matter whether it's an MX bike or a woods bike or enduro, every bike will be looked at equally.

Do I have to be over 18 and in the United States?

Entries are open to anyone and everyone!

How much can I spend?

You can spend as little or as much as you'd like on your project.

Do the videos have to be high quality?

Video quality does not matter, just as long as we can see your bike clearly. Feel free to use your cell phone. Show the bike in good lighting to give yourself the best chance.

What type of bike can I enter?

Any motorcycle is welcome! Sorry, no ATVs or UTVs.

Can I enter more than 1 bike?

Yes, you may enter more than one bike but you will need to purchase an entry for each bike. Only one bike per entry.

Can I sabotage my bike to make it look worse?

The panel of judges are smart guys that work on bikes for a living, we know what wear and tear looks like. Taking a hammer to your bike beforehand is only going to hurt your wallet and your chances of winning.

When does the contest begin?

This years contest runs November 1st, 2022 through April 30th, 2023.

When does the contest end?

The contest ends April 30th, 2023 at midnight PST.
